Food bank trucks among vehicles hit by gas thieves in San Jose

Mercury News:

As the price of gas in the South Bay continues its march to $4 a gallon, motorists now have one more thing to worry about: gas thieves.Thieves have siphoned gas from unattended trucks and vans in the past week at about 10 San Jose locations, including the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara County on Curtner Avenue near Highway 87, according to police Sgt. Mike Sullivan.

Businesses have been targeted in about half the thefts, Sullivan said.

“Wherever there are cars unattended at night, that’s where it seems to be happening,” Sullivan said. “In this day and age, it’s just going to start getting worse as the price of gas gets higher and higher.”

This is crazyness! GAS THIEVES. WTF. Wow. Not only rims, bumpers, or decals are being stolen now but GAS as well.
